MVP (minimum viable product)
The smallest version of a product that tests whether people want it enough to use or pay.
An MVP is an experiment, not a cheap version of the final product. It answers one question, usually about demand, with the least work. Sometimes that is software; often it is a landing page, a concierge service done by hand or a pre-sale.
