What the PostHog dashboard template includes
Traffic and channels
Visitors per day, channels (utm, AI assistants, search, social, direct), visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini, and the top pages.
Funnel, activation, retention
From visit to sign-up, activation and payment within 14 days; the activation rate, the share of new users who activate within a week; who comes back, week by week.
Quality and gaps
JavaScript errors and the slowest pages for real users, if you capture them, and a plain list of what your tracking is missing and how to fix it.
Your key and data stay between you and PostHog
- The page talks to the PostHog API directly from your browser. Your key and your project data are never sent to this server; open the network tab to check.
- The key lives in this tab only and is gone when you close it; the field is not a password field, so the browser does not offer to save it. Use a key with the five scopes above and delete it afterwards.
- The tool creates one dashboard and its insights in your project. It does not change events, settings or other dashboards.

Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no model or server cost: your browser does the work with your PostHog. It is how I show what I build.
Does it work with self-hosted PostHog?
Not yet: PostHog Cloud EU and US only. Write to me if you need self-hosted.
What if my event names are different?
The tool guesses sign-up, activation and payment from your event names and volumes; you can change each one before creating the dashboard.
How is it different from PostHog templates or PostHog AI?
PostHog has its own dashboard templates, where you pick the events for each insight, and PostHog AI can build insights one question at a time. This tool reads your last 30 days of events, suggests sign-up, activation and payment, creates a fixed set of insights in one go, adds AI assistants as a channel and lists what your tracking is missing. It does not replace a tracking plan written for your product.
Can I run it again?
Yes. Each run creates a new dashboard, so give it a new name or delete the old one in PostHog.
