Start tracking AI answers before you pay for a suite
AI Visibility Desk is a free AI visibility tracker by Przemysław Zalewski, an independent engineer. This page compares it with Peec AI and Otterly, two paid AI search trackers.
Peec AI and Otterly track several AI engines every day, for many prompts and teams. If you first want to know whether one assistant names your brand at all, start here for free and move to a suite when one engine and 10 prompts are no longer enough.

Which engines are covered
AI Visibility Desk asks one engine today: Claude with web search on, which is how buyers use it. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini are planned, not live.
Peec AI lists ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot as included, and Claude Sonnet, Claude Haiku, Grok, DeepSeek and others as paid add-on models; on the Starter, Pro and Advanced plans you choose 3 models. Otterly includes ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot in every plan, with Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini as add-ons.
If your buyers mostly ask ChatGPT or Google, a suite measures that today and this tool does not.
Full answers and citations, visible
- Every answer in full. Each weekly check stores the whole answer the assistant wrote, so you can read why a competitor was named instead of you.
- Cited pages next to it. The pages the assistant cited are saved with each answer; across weeks you see which sites it trusts, so you know where to get listed.
- Named means matched in the text. Your brand name and aliases are matched as whole words, without a model judging it, so every number can be checked against the answer.
- A trend, not a verdict. Answers change between runs. The share of answers that name you is shown week by week, so one odd week does not mislead you.
Free limits
- 1 brand with up to 5 competitors.
- 10 buyer prompts, checked every 7 days.
- 60 model calls a month: 4 or 5 weekly runs of 10 prompts, the rest for manual checks.
- One engine: Claude with web search.
- Answers are kept 180 days. Sign-in by email link, no card.
When to move to Peec AI or Otterly
- You need more engines. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini or Copilot, side by side.
- You track many brands or clients. Both offer many prompts and projects; Peec AI and Otterly both have agency programs.
- You report to others. Shared dashboards, exports, Looker Studio connectors and APIs are part of their paid plans (API from Otterly Standard, Peec AI Enterprise).
- You want daily data, sentiment or share of voice across countries. Both track daily and list multi-country tracking.
The prompts you write here carry over: copy them into either tool when you switch.
Want to be the brand that gets recommended?
A tracker shows where you stand. Getting named is work: the pages assistants cite, content that answers buyer questions (GEO), structured data, an llms.txt, and measurement in PostHog so you see which answers bring visitors. I do that as a growth engineering engagement.

Questions
Is AI Visibility Desk a replacement for Peec AI or Otterly?
Only for a small start: one brand, 10 prompts, one engine. For several engines, many brands, daily data or team reporting, a paid suite is the better choice.
Why only Claude?
Each engine needs its own API account and its own way to read citations. Claude with web search is live; ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini are planned and will be added one by one.
How much do Peec AI and Otterly cost?
As of October 2026 Otterly lists Lite at $29 a month billed monthly (15 prompts), Standard at $189 and Premium at $489, with a free trial. Peec AI lists Starter, Pro, Advanced and Enterprise plans; check its pricing page for current prices.
Can I take my prompts with me?
Yes. The prompts are plain questions you wrote; copy them into Peec AI or Otterly when you switch.
Does it check whether AI crawlers can read my site?
Yes, once per site: which AI crawlers your robots.txt allows, whether you publish llms.txt and a sitemap, and whether the home page has a title, description, structured data and a canonical link.
