Static site
A website served as ready-made files (HTML, CSS, images) with no server code or database running per visit.
The pages are built ahead of time and served from a CDN, so they load fast, cost little and leave almost nothing to hack or patch. Forms, search and comments come from small functions or services. Moving a brochure site off a CMS usually means a static site plus 301 redirects from every old address, so search rankings carry over.
