Web: accessibility and languages
Numeronym (a11y, i18n, k8s)
A word shortened to its first letter, the number of letters in between and its last letter, like a11y for accessibility.
Engineers abbreviate long words they type every day this way: a11y is accessibility, i18n internationalization, l10n localization, g11n globalization, o11y observability and k8s Kubernetes. Less common ones include p13n for personalization. They show up in repository names, package names, labels and job ads, which is why people search for them.
