Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)
The EU regulation that sets security requirements for products with digital elements, from smart devices to software, sold in the EU.
The CRA entered into force on December 10, 2024. Reporting obligations for actively exploited vulnerabilities apply from September 11, 2026, and the main obligations from December 11, 2027. Manufacturers must design for security, handle vulnerabilities for the product’s support period, provide security updates and document components, which in practice means an SBOM.
